A borrower reported paying a 50% card settlement, then receiving the certificate
A borrower was trying to close a BPI credit-card debt through a third-party collector. The collector agreed to a one-time payment equal to 50% of the balance and sent a written agreement. It said the Certificate of Full Payment would be issued within three to four weeks, and the borrower paid the agreed amount that same day. The wait felt risky because the borrower's payroll account was also with BPI. The borrower said money had been taken from that account for the card in March, so salary days meant staying awake and watching for another debit while the certificate was still pending. In a later reply on the same thread, the borrower reported that the BPI Certificate of Full Payment had arrived. The card section in BPI online was also empty. Those are the borrower's reported outcome; no bank ledger or separate confirmation was available in the public source.
