Flight refund appeared, but the first BNPL installment was still on the next statement
A PH cardholder bought a flight with an EastWest credit card and converted the purchase to buy-now-pay-later installments. After cancelling the flight, they said the airline refund appeared on their electronic statement and that EastWest support confirmed the refund. They therefore did not file a separate dispute. The cardholder later clarified that the refund had been applied to the December statement, while the first BNPL installment still appeared on the January statement. In a later reply, they said that installment needed to be paid, but did not say they had paid it. The borrower also said they terminated the BNPL arrangement to avoid further installments appearing. Asked about a termination fee, they said one was charged, without stating the amount. The public account does not show a final reconciled balance or establish how EastWest handles every refunded installment purchase.
