A borrower reported paying off PHP825,000 in cards and personal loans
A borrower shared an update after bringing PHP825,000 in credit-card and personal-loan debt down to PHP41,000. The reduction had not come from one settlement or a sudden windfall. The borrower described selling used clothes, bags, toys and other belongings, taking part-time and project work, asking a client for a raise, and cutting shopping, eating out and most subscriptions. Payments were handled one account at a time while minimum dues continued on the others. The borrower also described locking or cutting cards after clearing them, partly to avoid returning to the same cycle. At the PHP41,000 stage, the remaining balance still mattered: the post says the extra work had meant late nights and very little room for anything beyond essentials. The same post was later edited with a clear endpoint. On 30 June 2026, the borrower reported that all credit cards and personal loans had been paid. The update also said a new savings account held PHP100,000. BorrowTalk has not independently verified those balances; they remain the borrower's public account of the result. A second edit on 1 July listed new card and loan offers that the borrower had declined, blocked or locked. One BPI credit card was kept, while the others mentioned in the update were blocked or left unused. The story therefore ends not only with the reported payoff, but with the borrower actively limiting the credit lines and offers that followed it.
