GLoan collection contact does not tell you whether a debt is settled

Two Reddit commenters described being around two months overdue, but at different points in the process. One recalled penalties and reminders before later paying in full. The other reported collection-agency contact and hoped to settle the following month; that comment was not evidence that settlement happened. Official guidance says collection partners may contact borrowers through calls, texts and email. It also notes that contact can continue while a payment posts and briefly while collection records update afterward. A reminder alone therefore does not prove either that a payment failed or that the debt has been cleared. These are individual self-reports, not a promise of limited calls, no visits or uniform treatment.
