Two cooling-off payments appeared as advances in the Home Credit app

A borrower was approved for a PHP60,000 Home Credit cash loan on June 4 and said a little over PHP59,000 reached the bank account after processing charges. On June 16, after deciding the money was no longer needed, the borrower called Home Credit customer service to use the cooling-off option described in the contract and on the company website. The borrower recalled being told to return about PHP59,650. ## The app required two payments The Home Credit app allowed no more than PHP50,000 in one QR payment. Because the return amount was higher, the borrower made two payments within the stated cooling-off window. The account did not appear closed afterward. Instead, the borrower said both amounts were initially shown as advance payment. The borrower called customer service again, explaining that the split was caused by the app's own transaction limit. A support ticket was opened, and the borrower also said an escalation had been sent to the SEC. ## What happened next In a reply on the same public thread, the borrower later reported that the two payments had been consolidated and the issue resolved. The public material does not include the private contract, payment receipts, support ticket or a final Home Credit statement, so BorrowTalk cannot independently verify the account entries or the route used to resolve them.
