Community discussion · Composite borrower case
Account deletion and backend data erasure are not the same claim
In a public debt-paydown milestone, one borrower explicitly listed Cashalo among the accounts they had deleted and uninstalled. The same borrower contrasted that state with another lender whose payment was still waiting to reflect before deletion. In a later reply, the borrower said some apps provided a deletion option in settings while others required customer-support instructions, but did not identify which route applied to Cashalo. The supported outcome is therefore narrow: the borrower considered the Cashalo account deleted and removed the app. The post did not include a Cashalo-specific payment receipt, deletion confirmation, or audit of data retained after deletion. Uninstalling the app by itself also does not establish account deletion. Cashalo’s current public deletion page describes a separate request process and says personal data may be retained while an outstanding Paloo balance remains. Its privacy summary also says some information may remain after deletion for regulatory or fraud-prevention purposes. A user-facing deletion outcome should not be presented as proof that every backend record was erased. Light public provenance: Reddit · Official guidance.
