After a one-time settlement, the branch found no hold on the payroll account
One borrower said repeated calls to Security Bank collections eventually identified the collection agency handling an overdue credit-card account. The agency offered a one-time payment under an amnesty program. With help from family, the borrower raised and paid the amount requested. The collection agency reportedly said a clearance certificate could take about 30 days and the bank's offset hold could take three to five banking days to lift. Payday was approaching, so the borrower was worried that salary might still be deducted even after the settlement payment. The borrower emailed collections to explain that concern and attached the one-time-payment agreement from the agency and the payment receipt. The borrower also asked whether handling could be expedited before salary arrived. A branch visit added another checkpoint. According to the borrower, branch staff still referred the settlement issue to collections, but they agreed to check the payroll account and said no hold or negative balance was showing. The borrower was also encouraged to test the account with a small deposit. The borrower transferred PHP 40 through GCash and said the amount was not deducted. At that point, the account appeared to be operating normally. However, salary was due the next day, and the public source contains no later same-author confirmation of whether the full salary arrived without an offset. The source also does not show whether the clearance certificate was later delivered, reproduce the agreement or receipt, or establish that other Security Bank accounts would follow the same timeline. Where the story stood The one-time settlement was reportedly paid, the branch found no hold or negative balance, and a PHP 40 test transfer remained in the account. The next salary deposit and clearance-certificate outcome were not posted publicly.
