Community discussion · Composite borrower case
A two-year plan for PHP1 million credit card debt was beyond this borrower's budget
A borrower said a failed laundry business had left around PHP1 million in principal on a Security Bank card. They were still paying other cards, but could no longer cover this card's minimum amount due. When they asked about installments, the bank offered a two-year plan. The borrower said roughly PHP50,000 a month was beyond what they could manage while the other debts remained. They let this card become overdue and hoped to settle it after the other cards, rather than take the plan they could not afford. In later replies to the same thread, they said an offer had moved from about PHP1 million to PHP700,000. In a later reply, the borrower said another offer had arrived but they still could not raise the money and were saving funds. The unpaid credit card debt was still unresolved at the latest borrower reply. The public thread does not show an accepted settlement, payment of a later offer, or a closed account.
