₱2,000 Finbro Re-loan, ₱4,011 Due—What Are the Charges?
A ₱2,000 Finbro re-loan. A ₱4,011 overdue balance. How did it get there? That's what a borrower was trying to sort out in a public request to the Credit Information Corporation (CIC) on August 22. The request contained other figures too, but no contract or itemised account statement that would explain the calculation.
CIC replied two days later with an answer about who handles the complaint. It maintains credit information; questions about a financing company's interest, loan terms and collection practices belong with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). CIC did not rule that ₱4,011 was correct—or illegal. It also made no finding about the collection agency mentioned in the request.
What would help here is the original disclosure, the amount actually received, payments already made, and a line-by-line breakdown of fees and penalties. Any request to pay a collector should be checked through the lender's verified channels. The ₱4,011 figure is public. The calculation behind it still isn't.
