The payment check showed PHP 5,000–9,000 left, while collectors asked for PHP 21,000 or more
One borrower publicly listed several debts under a total loan figure of PHP 181,633.52. In a later update to the same thread, the borrower described a specific UnionBank balance problem. After checking UnionBank payments, the borrower believed the loan itself had been paid. The same review appeared to show that approximately PHP 5,000 to PHP 9,000 remained as interest. That was not the amount being requested by the collection agencies. According to the borrower, collectors were asking for PHP 21,000 or more. The borrower emailed them and said the UnionBank debt was believed to be settled. The message asked whether another amount still had to be paid and why the outstanding balance claimed by collectors was inconsistent with the borrower's payment check. The public source does not include the loan agreement, complete payment ledger, bank statement or an itemized collection demand. It therefore does not establish whether the lower estimate or the higher demand was correct, or what charges made up either figure. No later same-author post or reply was found showing whether UnionBank or a collection agency explained the difference, accepted another payment, or marked the account settled. Where the story stood The borrower believed the loan had been paid, identified roughly PHP 5,000 to PHP 9,000 that appeared to be interest, and was still being asked for PHP 21,000 or more by collection agencies. A reconciliation request had been sent, but the final balance and account outcome were not public.
