Paid GLoan, Why “No Guarantee”?
After roughly three years overdue, a GLoan borrower finally paid an agreed discounted amount. Payment was received, the person was told, but the case still had to go to an escalation team for review and approval—with “no guarantee.” Imagine saving for that settlement and then hearing the account might not be cleared yet. In the Reddit replies, the borrower said their account had reached collections before they coordinated directly with Fuse by email and were offered around a 40% discount. Another commenter said a discounted payment in their own case still left a balance showing in GCash. Those different experiences explained why the first acknowledgment didn't feel final. There was an update: by mid-October, the original poster said the payment had been acknowledged and they were waiting for a Certificate of Full Payment. That settles the immediate uncertainty in the post, according to the borrower, but no certificate was shared there. A received payment, an approved settlement and documented closure can arrive at different moments. Source: Reddit r/utangPH, 1 October 2026; follow-up in October.
