A Finbro “Minimum Payment” may buy time without reducing principal

  • Interest / fees
  • Repayment

Public borrowers repeatedly describe the displayed Minimum Payment as an extension charge rather than a normal principal installment. One borrower said 7-, 14- or 30-day prolongation payments did not reduce principal; that account later paid the full balance and chose not to borrow again. A March 2026 open-review contributor said a payment of about ₱948 bought a seven-day extension while the displayed balance stayed around ₱4,336. This is an unverified open-submission review, but it matches the state distinction in Finbro's current FAQ. The FAQ says Minimum Payment extends the Next Payment Date by 7, 14 or 30 days. The optional Borrowers Advantage document also lists those extension periods. Neither source supports assuming that the amount reduces principal. The exact fee and effect must be read from the logged-in account and Disclosure Statement before confirmation. Record the amount paid, the old and new payment dates, and the principal/balance before and after. Do not describe an extension as debt reduction unless the account actually shows it.
