The car loan was paid, but the vehicle documents stayed held until a later repayment review
One borrower said a BDO car loan had been fully paid in May 2025. When the borrower requested the original vehicle registration documents, the bank reportedly said it would first conduct a bank-wide check for any other obligations. A separate BDO credit-card balance was still outstanding. According to the borrower, the vehicle documents were not released at that stage because of that other obligation, even though the car loan itself had been paid. The borrower was also working through several overdue credit-card accounts. In the BDO case, the borrower said a long-term restructuring arrangement was handled through a third-party collection agency coordinating with the bank. Payments under that arrangement began in August 2025. After making payments for several months, the borrower submitted another request for the vehicle documents. A later update in the same public thread said the request was finally approved and the documents were released. The public source does not reproduce the car-loan contract, the credit-card restructuring agreement or the bank's complete internal decision. It therefore does not establish whether the card payment record was a formal release condition, one factor in a later review or simply part of the chronology. The broader debt journey was not complete. The borrower reported settling several other cards, while the BDO credit-card balance remained under a long-term payment arrangement. The document release was one concrete later outcome, not proof that the separate card debt had been cleared. Where the story stood The car loan was reported fully paid, the vehicle documents stayed held while another bank obligation remained, and a later release request was approved after several months of credit-card restructuring payments. The exact contractual basis and whether another borrower would receive the same result remain unknown.
