A borrower said one credit card debt had grown to PHP390,000 after interest and penalties. The account had passed through three collection agencies. The last collection agency offered a payment-assistance program asking for PHP140,000 as a one-time amount. The borrower reported paying it immediately. One week later, the bank sent a certificate of full payment. That certificate closed the story for one account, not the borrower's entire credit card debt. The borrower said this was one of three debts and that two still remained without a clear repayment path.
