A new collector said a settled salary loan was unpaid, then the bank issued a payment certificate
One borrower said a salary-advance loan had been settled through a collection agency in January 2025. The borrower paid the amount requested and kept an email confirming settlement, payment receipts and the related message history. A different collection agency later contacted the borrower and said the same account still had an outstanding balance. When the borrower supplied the earlier payment and settlement records, the new agency asked whether a compromise or closure agreement had been signed. The borrower said no such document had been mentioned during the original settlement. The borrower then returned to the first collection agency. According to the post, a branch manager acknowledged the concern and said the payment and account records would be reviewed. The borrower also emailed every party involved and attached the receipts, settlement confirmation and earlier email threads in one documented record. At that stage, the public post did not establish whether the second agency's claim reflected stale data, a remaining amount, an assignment error or another account problem. The bank and original settlement figures were not named, so BorrowTalk does not infer either one. A later reply from the same author provided the outcome. The borrower said the bank responded by email and sent a certificate of full payment. The borrower also reported that the newer collection firm did not contact them again. The update supports the borrower's reported resolution, but the source does not reproduce the certificate or explain why the account had been treated as unpaid. It also does not show whether any credit-report entry needed a separate correction. Where the story ended A settled loan was challenged by a different collector, the borrower escalated the complete document trail, and the bank reportedly issued a certificate of full payment. Further contact from the newer collector stopped, while the cause of the mismatch remained unknown.
