Home Credit debited PHP25,000 after account termination, then refunded it

  • Repayment
  • Complaint / dispute

A borrower said a Home Credit loan of about PHP150,000 had been opened in 2022. After three months without payment, the account was terminated and endorsed to a collection agency, where the borrower said a payment arrangement was already in place. The earlier auto-debit notices had stopped after termination. The borrower later received a message saying PHP25,000 had been deducted from the linked bank account, leaving PHP50. ## The refund took repeated follow-ups In the same public thread, the borrower said an email to Home Credit first produced no solution. After repeated follow-ups over one to two weeks, Home Credit was said to have initially declined a refund under the contract. The borrower appealed by pointing to the separate arrangement with the collection agent. According to the later update, the company reconsidered and returned the money after about one month. This is the borrower's account of the debit and refund. The private contract, debit authorization and account ledger were not part of the public material.
