After about half the three-year loan schedule was paid, a collection demand listed PHP 500,000
One borrower said a CTBC personal loan began at PHP 200,000 with a three-year payment schedule. The borrower reported making payments for almost one and a half years before financial problems interrupted the regular payment schedule. By the time of the public post, the borrower said the account was almost nine months overdue. After roughly two months without contact from CTBC, a demand letter arrived from another collection agency. The amount listed for payment was PHP 500,000. The borrower was shocked by the gap between the original PHP 200,000 loan, the period already paid and the new amount in the letter. The borrower guessed that penalties and other charges might be included, then asked whether CTBC might allow a discount or waive penalties. The public post does not include the demand letter, loan contract, payment ledger or an itemized calculation. Almost one and a half years of payments describes time on the schedule; it does not by itself prove that half of the principal or total obligation had been repaid. For the same reason, BorrowTalk does not state that the PHP 500,000 was made up of penalties, that the calculation was correct or incorrect, or that any discount or waiver was available. Other people replied with their own CTBC experiences and suggestions. Those are separate borrowers and are not treated as continuation or corroboration of this account. No material comment fact is used. Searches during research and again immediately before finalization found no deterministic same-author update, edit, reply, repost or crosspost showing what happened next. Where the story stood The borrower wanted to resolve a loan that had become overdue, but the only public amount available from the later collection stage was a PHP 500,000 demand against a reported original loan of PHP 200,000. The calculation, any negotiation and the final account outcome remain unavailable.
