GCredit Suspended Even After Paying? How to Reactivate and What to Check
GCash's help pages separate a deactivated GCredit from a closed one. Here is what each means, how to ask for reactivation, and why a fully paid balance does not automatically bring the line back.
GCredit suspended? Start by finding out whether GCash is treating it as deactivated or closed, because its help pages handle the two differently. A deactivated line can be reviewed for reactivation once the cause is fixed and you contact support. A closed account generally isn't coming back, and whatever you still owe stays payable either way.
Which of the two you're in depends on the reason, and the app doesn't always say.
GCredit suspended: the reasons GCash gives
When we checked on October 30, 2026, the GCash Help Center listed these as reasons a GCredit account may be deactivated:
- an unpaid balance for more than 3 months
- CIMB, the bank that provides GCredit, needs more information from you
- the details on your ID don't match your GCash profile
- you have more than one account
- updated terms and conditions haven't been accepted
A separate help article covers closure. It says an account may be closed after 3 months of non-payment, if the user is a foreign national, or if the user is over 64. Closure does not cancel the balance.
One thing worth keeping in mind: GCredit is a credit line from CIMB Bank Philippines that runs inside the GCash app. So the decision on your line sits with the bank, while GCash support is the door you knock on. That is part of why answers can feel slow or vague.
How to reactivate GCredit, step by step
The official route is basically two moves: fix whatever caused it, then contact support. GCash says support will reach out within 2 days. In practice, it looks like this.
- Screenshot exactly what the GCredit screen says today, with the date visible. "Suspended", "deactivated", "temporarily unavailable" and a missing tile are not necessarily the same status.
- Compare your GCash profile with your ID. Name spelling, birthday, address. If you updated your info recently, write down when.
- If there's a balance, check the latest statement and pay what's due through the app. Save the reference number.
- Look for any pending terms and conditions prompt and accept it.
- Send a ticket through the GCash Help Center, or call the 2882 hotline, and ask one clear question: what is the reason my GCredit is deactivated, and what do I need to do to request reactivation? Attach your screenshots.
- Note the ticket number and date. If the 2-day window passes with nothing, follow up on the same ticket instead of opening new ones. Multiple tickets for the same problem tend to make the trail harder to follow.
Paid in full but GCredit still suspended
This one keeps coming up in posts from the past couple of months, the "fully paid na, suspended pa rin" situation. Someone pays the whole balance, the amount due goes to zero, and GCredit stays locked anyway. One borrower said support called the account permanently suspended even though the old limit was still visible on screen. Another borrower reported a suspension on September 30, 2026. And one long-settled borrower said GCredit never came back, even though other GCash loan products later did.
It helps to separate the states, because they move on different clocks:
- Paid: the money left your wallet or bank.
- Posted: the payment shows against your GCredit balance.
- Settled: amount due is zero.
- Access restored: you can actually use the line again.
- Credit report updated: what the bank reports to the Credit Information Corporation catches up. That's its own timeline.
(In GCash's wording, "closed" means the line was shut for good, so it isn't a step you're aiming for.)
Paying in full gets you to the third step. The fourth is a credit decision, and nothing on the official pages promises it will follow. If your account was closed rather than deactivated, the help page wording suggests it won't be reopened.

GCredit limit still showing but you can't use it
A visible limit isn't proof the line is active. One borrower said the app still showed an available limit and even let them pick GCredit at checkout, after support had confirmed a permanent suspension. The payment then failed. Others describe a visible limit with repeated payment errors. Treat what the support reply says as the status, not the number on the dashboard.

What can still happen while the account is suspended
Two lines in the GCredit terms are easy to miss. First, you authorize CIMB to debit your GCash wallet, and other wallets linked to you, for amounts billed, and that authorization stays even if your account is suspended, restricted or closed. So if you have an unpaid balance, don't be surprised by a deduction. Second, your statement is treated as final if you don't dispute it within 20 calendar days after you receive it by email. If a charge looks wrong, raise it in writing before then.
And a scam warning, because it comes up a lot: no one outside official GCash channels can "reactivate GCredit for a fee". If a stranger messages you offering that, or asks you to pay a balance to a personal account, check first. What GCash doesn't say about reactivation
Neither GCash nor CIMB publishes a timeline for how long a review takes after full payment, or whether a reactivated line comes back with the same limit. The posts we found mostly describe people still waiting or being told the decision was final. That doesn't mean nobody gets reactivated, since people whose access comes back rarely post about it.
FAQ
How do I reactivate GCredit?
Fix the cause GCash lists (unpaid balance, ID mismatch, pending info request, duplicate account, or unaccepted terms), then contact support through the Help Center or 2882. GCash says support reaches out within 2 days. Reactivation is a review, not a guaranteed result.
Why is my GCredit deactivated even though I already paid?
A cleared balance and restored access are separate steps. Paying stops the debt from growing, but the bank still decides whether to reopen the line. Ask support for the specific reason on your account.
Will GCash deduct my wallet if GCredit is suspended?
It can. The GCredit terms say your authorization for CIMB to debit your GCash wallet, and other wallets linked to you, for billed amounts stays in place even if the account is suspended, restricted or closed.
Can GCredit be permanently closed?
Yes. GCash's help page says closure can happen after 3 months unpaid, for foreign nationals, or for users over 64. The remaining balance still has to be paid.
Will paying a suspended GCredit fix my credit report?
Paying is what lets the record improve, but what CIMB reports to the CIC follows its own schedule. If you later find a paid account still showing as unpaid, you can request your report and dispute it for free through the CIC.
